I can't express enough how lovely this wedding was.
There was no walking down the aisle, no bridal party,
no toasts, no over-the-top fanfare.
They shuffled in with their guests and stood simple and true.
Gathered close with friends and loved ones,
with both sets of parents at their side.
Their fathers each read authentic words from their hearts.
There was laughter and there was emotion.
It was the most relaxed, humble and honest union I have ever witnessed.
And it was an honor.

It is my busy season for photography.
Between weddings, newborns and family sessions
I am always either shooting or editing
at any given time of day.
On top of that, we were feeling a little homeschool burn-out.
So, when I saw that I somehow had an ENTIRE WEEK free IN JUNE
we packed up and hit the road for a much deserved Mommy and me vacay!
We did so much in just 4 short days :: we went on a whale watch, toured a potato chip factory, swam in the ocean, visited a jam kitchen/petting zoo and tons more.
One of her favorite things though, was the 30 minutes we spent
feeding trout at this fish hatchery just a mile from our motel.
She fell in love with this one fish. She named him "Wide Ball",
because he had wide set eyeballs, lol.

It feels really great when a couple hires you to photograph their newborn even though they live an hour and a half from you. It is even cooler when they do it twice! This was my second session with this beautiful young family. First came adorable little Milo. This time it was his sweet sister Leonie's (Lee-oh-nee) turn. And it's so clear from these images just how loved they both are!! So I'm totally over-sharing for just a sneak peek, but I can't help it, they're gorg!

This is my favorite one of just her. The tall grass and that yellow mixed with the dreamy freelensing...gah!!!

He really adores her.

I have worked with the witty and very talent Sarah Wiley Joyce from SRW Joyce Photography a few times now, but in the past I was always the primary and I hired her as my second shooter. This time the roles were reversed. I had never been a second shooter before and I can't tell you how relaxing it is, lol. It felt good to have less pressure for once and be able to play and be artistic in the moment. And we both had a great time with this über fun family! Here are just a few my shots from this special day...
