Mokara Hotel & Spa | San Antonio Missions Park I'm going to try my best to convey the beauty and romance of this past weekend with Hilary and Lee. There are certain couples you meet that you can just feel the connection. These two individuals share a powerful love. They've been together over six years. When they were writing their vows separately, they wrote about the same, exact memory. What are the chances with all they have experienced together, that they would reminisce about the same day?! They are so in tune with one another. They know what the other needs. They handle tough situations with humor and kind words. I believe in their happily ever after. And I am so honored to have been a part of this wonderful new chapter in their love story. To the Bride's mother Maria, thank you for being so sweet and considerate all weekend. You are just a high class woman! You had us laughing so hard. I know the Bride and Groom truly appreciated your support and humor! To the Groom's mother Dawn, it was due to your generosity that we had this incredible hotel rooftop as the setting for the ceremony and dinner. Your personality had a huge impact on the day. I will never forget all you did. The hotel was so lovely. And I can not say enough good things about the staff! From the valet Luis, to the server Juan. And the event coordinator, Krystal. You were all very understanding and such a gracious group. I wish I had learned more names! Those in the service industry work their tails off and are not always treated the best. They definitely don't always get the recognition they deserve. So I want to make it a point to say a special thank you. We all know that without you, the wheels would come off. A sincere thank you to our Park Ranger tour guide at The Missions park, Kate, as well. She was so accommodating. Please, be sure to get the proper permits when using these stunning locations for special occasions. Out of respect for the hard work put into preserving them. Lastly, I want to give a BIG shout out to the Bride's sister Brittany. I have known this gorgeous lady for six years. She is one of the most supportive and calming forces anyone could have in their life. I can't tell you how many fires she put out to try and selflessly make her sister's dream come true! No one can relax Hilary, like Brittany can. She added greatly to the couple's happiness that day. By the time we sat down to dinner on the picturesque rooftop of the Mokara Hotel & Spa in downtown San Antonio; I was tired and sore. I had blisters on the bottoms of my feet, gravel embedded in my knees and I realized I hadn't eaten a thing all day while working in the scorching Texas heat. And I wasn't mad about any of it. I worked my booty off for this couple, because I wanted to!! Because they treated me like family and I just adore them! I hope I did you justice Hilary & Lee! I'm wishing you a lifetime of laughter and love (and lightweight chairs, lol. Sorry Lee) Getting Ready. Ceremony. Family Formals. Bride & Groom. Rooftop Dinner. Bellamy Harbor Park and Train Station Elopement | Rome, NY Erika and Todd had a simple courthouse ceremony before meeting up with me at the train station in Rome, NY. The architecture was so beautiful. We did about a half hour session. Then we literally drove around the corner for a sunset session outside at Bellamy Harbor Park. I had planned for golden hour images and the light did not disappoint!! It was so dreamy by the time we got there. The water and the snow were both glittery and it was chilly, but not frigid. The perfect settings for such a lovely couple. And here is their sneak peek... Once upon a time... When Katie contacted me and said that she and Ryan were thinking of eloping at an abandoned castle a few hours away and asked if I could be the one to photograph it, I got butterflies inside. Then, when she said I could be as artistic as I wanted to be, I may or may not have squealed in delight! Sometimes work is just work, and sometimes work is pure inspiration. This wedding was the definition of inspiring. I really fell in love with this couple, right off the bat. They are so kind and considerate of one another. They are affectionate and not afraid to show their emotions. I've said it many times before, but small intimate weddings like this are my absolute favorite things to shoot. There is no pressure, no distractions. The focus is solely on the connection, it is all about their love story. And this was a beautiful love story. To witness not just this lovely couple becoming one, but seeing their sweet girls officially become sisters, was a true honor. The fact that it all happened at a CASTLE, well, that was just the cherry on top of a delicious sundae. *I do want to note that this location is private property and is posted and we had permission from the owners to be there. We actually got a little lost trying to find it. Then a couple of kind good samaritans helped us out by giving us an escort up the dirt road. I didn't get their names, but shout out to them. If you're reading this, you know who you are. (And I still owe you that $5) Lol I also want to give a big thanks to my assistant Jamie Wheatley, who comes with me to nearly every wedding. She is never seen in any of my images, but does so much behind the scenes to keep me sane. Everything from fixing hair and wardrobe issues, to wrangling all the kiddos. It is all so appreciated! With all that said, here is a sneak peek of Katie and Ryan's absolute fairytale of a day... Getting Ready. The Ceremony. Family Portraits. Bride & Groom Portraits. ...and they lived happily ever after. >>> <<< To book your elopement, please contact me HERE
Destination Elopement | Niagara Falls, NY I had only "met" Sarah online and spoken to her once on the phone. The rest of our communications were via text messages. She and her fiancé are from New Jersey and planned a destination elopement with their son Brandon in Niagara Falls, NY. I drove 2.5 hours and they drove 7+ hours. None of us really knew the area. .After a brief ceremony, we literally just walked around together, photographing as we went. It was all so spontaneous and lovely! I'll tell you a secret, these small intimate weddings are my absolute favorite things! There are no rules! I can get as close as I want for a shot. There's no timeline or itinerary. No paparazzi guests. It always feels so genuine and romantic. So if you're planning an elopement or simple backyard wedding, give me a shout. I'd be honored to capture it all. Congrats Mr. & Mrs. and tiny Byron. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness! >>> <<< |
